FAQ: What's the difference between filtering data and unselecting it in an attribute?

TrialTrace gives two different options to remove data from the chart.

One way to remove data from the chart is through filtering. Filtering literally removes the data from the visualization, meaning your chart will render as if your data was never there.

The other way is by unselecting a data column in the attribute (ie. SLICE, GROUP, etc...). In this instance, the chart will render as if the data is there, but you simply can't see it. This may result in an empty slice or in parts of your swimlane chart being blank, but allows you to focus on specific data without altering the geometry of the entire chart.
